Paun Georgiev & Tsvetan Kamov

Paun Georgiev and Tsvetan Kamov were killed on Tuesday, June 14, 2005, due to a vehicle accident 55 kilometres southeast of Ad Diwaniyah.

Paun was born September 5, 1974 in Sopot. He joined the Bulgarian army in September 2004.



Tsvetan was born May 19, 1980 in Karlovo. He joined the Bulgarian army in September 2004.



Four Bulgarian soldiers were patrolling in a BRDM-2 armoured personnel carrier during Operation White Shield. The carrier slipped off a dike, fell into a canal and turned on its side. Marin Milev died a week later.

The Bulgarian soldier who was in critical condition after a crash in Iraq has died, the Defence Ministry announced.

Corporal Marin Milev Milev passed away Tuesday at a German hospital.

Corporal Milev and several other Bulgarian military men were in a vehicle that slipped off the road last week and drowned. Two soldiers died immediately, while Milev slipped into a coma.

Private Gurdi Gurdev, aged 30, died on Friday evening March 4, 2005, after his patrol came under fire some 45 km from camp Echo in the town of Diwany, Kadissiya province. The soldier was gravely wounded in the ambush and did not make it to hospital despite the efforts of other soldiers to revive him.

One Bulgarian soldier died and three others were wounded
on Sunday October 24, 2004, in Iraq when a truck loaded with explosives blew up near their convoy near the southern city Karbala.

Senior Sergeant Vladimir Pashov, 35, died of his wounds while being transported to a hospital. The other three Bulgarian soldiers, who were lightly injured, were immediately rushed into the Lima base hospital with no risk for their lives.



Two of the soldiers, Chavdar Sarafov and Anton Yankov, are still in the hospital, while Miroslav Georgiev has already been discharged from hospital.

Individuals BulgariaBGNewsNet.com -- SOFIA (bnn)- A Bulgarian soldier in the Iraqi city of Karbala died Friday of his wounds after being shot in the head by local militants, an official said.

Sergeant Dimitar Dimitrov died in a field hospital in Baghdad, where he was flown after the attack, a defense ministry spokesperson told the BNN. He was the sixth Bulgarian soldier to be killed in Iraq.

Dimitrov was wounded as militants fired automatic guns and grenade launchers at a Bulgarian army truck, which was carrying troops back to their base from the mayoralty of Karbala.The soldiers returned the fire.

Sofia Confirmed 4 Deaths in Karbala

Individuals Bulgariawww.novinite.com -- Bulgaria's Defense Ministry confirmed information about the four Bulgarian soldiers killed in attacks in the Iraqi city of Karbala earlier on Saturday.

The victims were named Georgi Kachorin, Anton Petrov,
Ivan Indzhov and Svilen Kirov.
Nikolay Angelov Saruev died of wounds the following day.
