Kuwait Times -- KUWAIT: A 41-year-old US Army soldier from Las Vegas, Nevada has died from injuries in Kuwait not related to combat, according to the US Department of Defence.

The department says Lt. Col. Marshall A. Gutierrez died Sept. 4 in Camp Virginia, Kuwait.
Gutierrez was assigned to the Area Support Group in Camp Arijan, Kuwait. The department says Gutierrez's death is under investigation. Gutierrez is a 1983 graduate of West Las Vegas High School and a 1987 graduate of New Mexico Highlands University. He is the son of Mary E. Gutierrez of Las Vegas.

Marshall Gutierrez's death marks the second of a military member from Las Vegas this week. Marine Lance Corporal Shane Harris died Sunday during combat operations in Al-Anbar province in Iraq. - AP

The article has it wrong. Lt. Col. Gutierrez was from Las Vegas, New Mexico, not Nevada.

Colonel thank you for your service to "OUR COUNTRY"> You have not died in VAIN! You are an AMERICAN HERO! So much more to those that knew you. My heart and prays are with you and your loving family. Colonel you are not alone. You are with our son and all our fallen. We honor and remember evryone of you.............that gave the ulimate scarifice for "US ALL". Terrorism is very real. An without men and women as yourself. America would not be safe today. Your leadership gyuiding our young men and women are appreciated. You taught them so much. Most important thing was we are all family. That in war we "WILL" watch over one another. Now its time American's honor you "COLONEL" and all those prior and after you. That we a American's thank you "ALL"! I remember 911! As it was yesterday. Sitting on the Staten Island Ferry leaving the New York Habour for Staten Island. All Americans need to visit 911, Shanksville and Washinton D.C. To understand the service you gave to our "COUNTRY" and all the men and women with you. To your family healing is a slow process. Take it one day at a time. Reflect on the very fond and precious memorable memories you each shared together with the "COLONEL". Then you realize he is close by in uour HEARTS!
