LT. COLONEL FINKEN you have not died vain! You are an AMERICAN HERO! One that was so much more to those that knew and loved him. Paul is somebodies someone, someone to every fallen family and hope to every American. He was a leader that gave understanding, guidance and leadership to our soldiers. These are very diffucult days ahead for your family. Don't be sad or unhappy. Paul lived a full life. He has accomplished so much over the years. Unselfish for the better of mankind and his country. Sir, I would like to say thank you to you and the other two soldiers who were killed in that blast for your service and sacrifice for our Country. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

I knew Lt. Col. Finken when he was the executive officer at 1st 187 inf reg. He was an inspiration to all of the soldiers under his command. I will miss you sir you were the best. Rakkasan sir Rakkasan sir..

Col Paul Finken you SSG Gage LTC kruger and our interpeter Mustaffa were great people to work with i will always remember you I just wish I would have said something better than "see you later Sir when i handed you your eye protection before you took off that day but i didnt know it would be the last time i would see you take care you will always be in my prayers
