Florida Times-Union -- A soldier from Jacksonville died Thursday of wounds he received when his vehicle hit a roadside bomb in southern Iraq, the Pentagon said Monday.

Army Pfc. Tavarus D. Setzler, 23, died after an explosion in Majar al Kabir.
He was a member of the 1st Cavalry Division based at Fort Hood, Texas, according to a Pentagon news release. Officials at Fort Hood did not return phone calls Monday evening.
Setzler, a combat engineer, joined the Army in November and deployed to Iraq in June, the Killeen (Texas) Daily Herald reported on its Web site.
A Facebook page in Setzler's name said he graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 2005 and worked for Washington Mutual, a large bank with offices in Baymeadows, before joining the service.
Funeral arrangements were not announced Monday and family could not be reached.
