KFDM News spoke by phone with Shaun's uncle in Hull.

Chester Tousha told us Shaun had been in the military for about eight years and had served several tours of duty in Iraq since the war began in 2003.

Shaun was born and raised in Hull and played football in high school.

Chester told us Shaun was a "good kid and an outgoing person."

Shaun's wife lives in Killeen where Shaun was stationed.

His father died of heart failure in 2002 and his mother died of cancer when Shaun was a teenager. Shaun's stepmother lives in Hull.

Funeral arrangements are pending.
