Individuals El SalvadorSubsargento Jose Perdomo, 41, was killed in action on Wednesday July 19, 2006, as a result of an improvised explosive device which detonated in the Al Kut suburb of Alkarramm while he was providing security for reconstruction teams. He was assigned to the Cuscatlan Battalion.

Jose joined the El Salvador armed forces on February 1, 1985, and was allocated to the Marina Infantry, part of the country’s Naval force, as a driver. The other wounded soldier, 30-year-old Jose Alexander Herrera Diaz, entered the military on June 27, 1998, and was assigned to the Regiment of Knighthood as a .50cal machine gunner.

Both soldiers were immediately evacuated to the military Hospital in Baghdad. Perdomo suffered wounds to the left side of the thorax and died while being transported to the facility. Diaz received splinter fragments to his left ear and jaw.

In spite of this incident the contingent continues to provide effective services in support of humanitarian and reconstruction efforts in the region.

He is a Hero to every American and Iraqi! he has not died in vain. Certainly, the very elite of all El Salvadorians. Not many every become soldiers. Willing to risk everything for everyone. terrorism is real that is the reality of life. otro understood his role as a soldier. he will never ever be forgotten. I fully understand the heartache losing a soldier. US ARMY SGT GREGORY L. WAHL KIA BALAD, IRAQ 05-03-04. He leaves behind his El Salvardorian princess Maricela and daughter Alexis. Our herat and prays are with Orto and his family. Healing is a slow process. reflect on the very fond and precious memorable times each of you shared together with Orto, you realize he is with you more then ever! God Bless! Please just do not read the message. Leave a message for it honors a fallen soldier. An it helps the family heal!
