Sgt. Paul C. Neubauer, 40, of Oceanside, Calif., who died on Sept. 23.The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom. He died of injuries sustained in Baghdad, Iraq, on Sept. 23, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his M113 armored personnel carrier. He also were attacked by enemy forces using small arms fire. He was assigned to the Army National Guard's 1st Battalion, 184th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division, Oakdale, Calif.
