kgw.com -- A soldier with Oregon ties was killed in Iraq Friday.

Shirley Stearns, of McMinnville said her daughter, 26-year-old US Army Specialist Michelle R. Ring, was killed in Iraq on July 5th.

She was hit by a mortar while on guard duty inside the gate at Camp Liberty.

She went to school in McMinnville and then the family moved to Alaska, where Ring graduated high school.

She was based out of Fort Benning, Georgia.

US Army Specialist Michelle Ring is survived by her parents, two sisters and two sons, 7-year old Marc and 5-year old Brandon.

nice white woman killed in protecting her country but in defending as well Israel dictatorship....
