Giuseppe Lima

Giuseppe Lima, based in Rimini, Italy, was one of four Italian soldiers killed on Tuesday May 31, 2005, when their helicopter crashed 13 kilometres south east of Nasiriyah, the southern Iraqi city where Italy's 3,000 troops are based



The helicopter was coming back from the Kuwaiti international airport and had stopped to refuel at Camp Buehring, also in Kuwait. Radio contact was lost soon after take off from the camp.


Giuseppe had grown up in the military citadel of the Cecchignola, near Rome. He joined the miliatry at 18 following in the footsteps of his father.
In 1998 he married his wife, Leandra, with whom they have two sons. She is pregnant with their third child.
