Individuals Romaniawww.keralanext.com -- BUCHAREST - A Romanian soldier in Iraq who tried to commit suicide ten days ago died in a Kuwaiti hospital late Saturday, the Romanian news agency reported Sunday.

The soldier, Dobre Lili, fired at his head in his tent on March 14 after finishing petrol around the area. He was in an immediate coma after the shot and was rushed to a nearby Kuwaiti hospital for treatment.

The cause of suicide was unknown.

A spokesman for the Romanian Defense Ministry told Xinhua that Lili is the first soldier dead in Iraq. So far, three Romanian soldiers died in Afghanistan, he added.

Romania currently has more than 840 soldiers in Iraq.

Thank You for serving along side America. To give the Iraqi people a new beginning. War is so costly! An yet, you gave your life for mankind. That tells me must about the person Dobre was. An a hero to the Iraqi people and to all of Romania. Thank You for being a military brother to our son. Our son US ARMY SGT> GREGORY L> WAHL gave his life in Balad, Iraq 05-0304 Your together now and that's even more of a comfort two great men are together. My heart and prays are with Dobre and your family! God Bless!

I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for Romania. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy. The United States is lucky to have an ally such as your Country in its time of need.
