Individuals USwww.katv.com -- Another Arkansas soldier has been killed in the line of duty. Specialist Dustin L. Kendall of Conway died Sunday when the Humvee he was driving collided with a tank and rolled over in Baqubah, Iraq.

(Allan Standford, Victim’s Friend)"As soon as you walk into a room anywhere he lit it up and had people laughing.  You couldn't be around him for five minutes at all without laughing or smiling even if you were angry at him. You can't help but like him."

Allan Stanford recalls times with close friend Dustin Kendall.
The two met while working at a restaurant in Bryant. And later became roommates while attending U.C.A.

Stanford says 21-year-old Kendall was a Business Administration major and an avid golfer. He decided to enlist in the army reserve to help pay for college.

(Stanford)"He just wanted to do his part, it's a victory. He's a hero a real hero."

Kendall was stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado for sometime before receiving the news of his deployment to Iraq. A month before he left Kendall was able to visit his close friends in Conway.

(Stanford)"I certainly didn't expect that a month after he had been gone to get news like that.  It's sad because, I miss him."

Kendall's family plans to have a memorial service in Summersville, South Carolina this weekend.

My family knew Dustin personally. He was a kindhearted young man and was proud to wear his uniform. He was a real gentleman and he will be missed. My prayers go to his family who are doing mission work for God.

To Dustin's family: I was one of Dustin's friends from Chili's Little Rock. When we first met we just hit it off. He was so well liked. I miss him alot. Dustin was my first friend killed in Iraq. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I will always know Dustin died doing what he was destined to do. He was truly loved and will be Missed greatly.

There is so much that could be said about Dustin. He was a great soldier, a good brother, and a great friend. Whenever i was down or needed a helping hand Dustin was always there. He always had a smile and a kind word to say. He had a great smile and a laugh that was so contangious that no matter what mood you were in you couldnt help but smile. I never saw him in a bad mood. At work or at church he never had a bad thing to say. The country lost a great soldier but an even better friend. His kind heart and big smile touched many lifes and he will be in many hearts forever.
