News Channel 5 -- PORTLAND, Tenn. - The U.S. Department of Defense announced Monday the death of an airman who supported Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Tech. Sgt. Joey D. Link, 29, of Portland, Tenn., died of natural causes at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany on Sunday.

The C-130 Hercules flight engineer was assigned to the 39th Airlift Squadron at Dyess Air Force Base outside Abilene, Texas.

According to the Air Force Times, Link was deployed to the 379th Air Expeditionary Wing based at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar, at the time of his death.

The Air Force publication said that Link's survivors include his wife, Windy; their infant daughter, Rylee; and two sons from a previous relationship, Jordan and Andrew.
