Stars and Stripes -- The Defense Department has identified a 1st Infantry Division soldier who was killed last week in Iraq.

Spc. Marieo Guerrero of 1st Battalion, 18th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team out of Schweinfurt, Germany, died Saturday in Baghdad from wounds suffered when a roadside bomb exploded near his vehicle, according to a DOD news release issued Tuesday.

Guerrero, 30, was from Fort Worth, Texas.

Guerrero is the 25th soldier from 2nd "Dagger" Brigade and the fourth from 1-18 killed since the unit deployed in August and September of last year.

The unit, which is in several locations throughout the country, is primarily near the violence-ridden cities of Baghdad and Ramadi.

A memorial ceremony is scheduled at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Ledward chapel in Schweinfurt.
