AP -- An Army spokesman at Fort Campbell says a member of the 101st Airborne Division died in a fall from a helicopter in Kirkuk, Iraq following a mission.

He's identified as 23-year-old Private First Class Joseph Duenas of Mesa, Arizona. Officials say his helicopter was landing after a night combat operation.

Duenas was an infantryman assigned to Company D, First Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment, First Brigade Combat Team. He joined the Army in November 2004 and arrived at Fort Campbell in February 2005.

Duenas' memorial service will be held in Iraq, and he also will be recognized on Fort Campbell during the monthly Eagle Remembrance ceremony.

The Army says the death remains under investigation.
