Marco Cirillo, based in Pisa, Italy, was one of four Italian soldiers killed on Tuesday May 31, 2005, when their helicopter crashed 13 kilometres south east of Nasiriyah.

The helicopter was coming back from the Kuwaiti international airport and had stopped to refuel at Camp Buehring, also in Kuwait. Radio contact was lost soon after take off from the camp.

Marco moved to Pisa in 2000 with his wife. his family still lives in Bagnaia.

I go to this site in an attempt to know all of you young men and women lost in this war, in the only way I can. My prayers go out to your family and friends.
