 KDH News -- Funeral services for Spc. Charles Earl Leonard Jr. will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel, Shreveport, La. Officiating will be the Rev. John Hall.
Interment with full military honors will follow in Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Keithville, La.
 The family will receive friends from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel, 2500 Southside Drive, Shreveport.
Specialist Leonard was born Sept. 4, 1977, in West Monroe, La., to Charles and Sharon Leonard. He died Aug. 5, 2007, in Baghdad, Iraq, while on active duty with the U.S. Army. He was an Army infantryman.
Specialist Leonard was preceded in death by his father, Charles E. Leonard Sr., great-grandmother, Granny Berry; grandparents, Vernon E. Ingles Sr. and Mary Lou Ingles.
Survivors include his wife, Katrina Leonard, and daughter, Hailie Leonard of Newellton, La., and Fort Hood; his mother, Sharon Leonard of Monroe, La; grandparents, Lelvin Burgess and Helen Burgess of Monroe, La; and brothers, Jacob Ingles and Joey Strickland, both of Monroe, La.; and a host of other family members and friends.
Due to cemetery rules, the family requests that all memorial floral arrangement orders to honor Spc. Charles Leonard Jr. be made through the Fort Hood flower shop at (254) 532-5066. These will be held by the flower shop to be delivered by Katrina Leonard to the burial site at a later date. |
