Individuals USKSAT.COM -- SAN ANTONIO -- A Marine reservist from San Antonio was killed in Iraq over the weekend, the Defense Department said Monday.

He was identified as Sgt. Aaron N. Cepeda, 22.

He was killed Saturday from explosions as a result of enemy action while engaged in combat operations in Anbar Province, west of Baghdad.

Cepeda was assigned to Marine Forces Reserve's 3rd Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division in San Antonio.

His reserve unit, which deployed to Iraq in early March, was attached to the 2nd Marine Division.

Cepeda was married with children aged 4 and 16 months. He graduated from Health Careers High School and attended Texas A&M University at Corpus Christi.

Cpl. Elan Flores, a Marine public affairs specialist in San Antonio, told the newspaper that Cepeda was known as a go-getter, an outstanding Marine with an exemplary record.

"All I've heard about him are positive things," Flores said. "He wanted to finish his service in Iraq and get home to his family."

Aaron,
I would like to say thank you to you and the other Marines who died in your unit(3/25) for your service and sacrifice for our Country. And to your family, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
