Marco Briganti, stationed in Rimini, was one of four Italian soldiers killed on Tuesday May 31, 2005, when their helicopter crashed 13 kilometres south east of Nasiriyah.



The helicopter was coming back from the Kuwaiti international airport and had stopped to refuel at Camp Buehring, also in Kuwait. Radio contact was lost soon after take off from the camp.


Mark was a resident to Hill Berni, and originally came from forlivese of Forlì, where his parents and sister, Manuela, live.
Mark had been in Iraq for just a week, starting his seond tour of the country. his current tour was due to last four months.
Mark joined the military in 1991 and had served in Bosnia. He leaves a wife, Simona,
