The Courier-Journal -- A soldier from Trigg County has died in Iraq from in juries not related to combat , according to the Department of Defense.

Spc. Jason E. Ames, 21, of Cerulean in Western Kentucky, died Wednesday in Mosul.

Ames was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 21st Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade, 25th Infantry Division (Stryker Brigade Combat Team), based at Fort Lewis, Wash.

Ames' family declined to comment and referred calls to the Pentagon.

Col. Pamela Hart at Army Headquarters said no other information was immediately available about Ames' death.

While viewing a list of the brave men and women we have lost in this
war, for some reason Jason caught my attention. I am grateful for his
service for our country and want to send my deepest sympathy to his
family and friends. You and the rest of the families are in my prayers.
